The Lagardère group calls for the Formula One Grand Prix to return to France in 2011

Paris, december 5, 2008

There will be no French Grand Prix in 2009 – nor in 2010 in all likelihood.
And if there is none in 2011 either, France risks losing its Grand Prix altogether.
We are launching an appeal to the Prime Minister, to the Minister for Sports and to the French Motorsport Federation to agree to the construction of a new Formula 1 circuit.
There are currently two high quality projects in the running, submitted by Flins (in the Yvelines département, west of Paris) and Sarcelles (in the Val d’Oise département, north of Paris). It is now time to decide.
This is an important issue, both in terms of jobs for French workers and of France’s image abroad. It is not yet too late, and it is time a decision was made.
