SPORTFIVE creates African Business Unit and appoints Idriss Akki as Managing Director of SPORTFIVE Africa

Alain Lemarchand announced today that SPORTFIVE has created a new African Business Unit. He has appointed Idriss Akki as Managing Director of SPORTFIVE Africa.

In his new role, Idriss and his team will focus primarily on further developing SPORTFIVE’s existing operations in Africa. He will also identify and capitalise on new growth opportunities in the region.

The appointment will be with immediate effect and Idriss will report directly to Alain Lemarchand.

Aged 52, Idriss Akki joined SPORTFIVE in 1990. He has spent most of his career there. Until now, he has held the position of Senior Vice President in charge of Africa. Idriss Akki is recognized for the major contribution he has made to maintaining SPORTFIVE’s leading position in Africa (Africa Cup of Nations, Champions’ League, World Cup qualifiers).
