RELAY France recently supported the Carlesimo association, which carries out numerous actions for hospitalised children each year.

Once again this year, the company did a collection in the points of sale and at the head office.

To mark 25 years of the Pièces Jaunes [Yellow coins] operation, an event was organised on 5th March, which was attended by representatives from RELAY France.

From 2pm to 4pm, in the presence of Yves Duteil, sponsor of the Pièces Jaunes association, players from Stade Français (French professional rugby union club), young firefighters and sailors from the French navy, over 100 children hospitalised at Hôpital Kremlin Bicêtre, Hôpital Bullion and Institut Gustave Roussy were taken by the Paris Bateaux-Mouches (River Boat) Company for a cruise on the Seine, discovering the most beautiful monuments of Paris.

Upon returning to the port at 4pm, Mrs Bernadette Chirac, president of the Fondation Hôpitaux de Paris-Hôpitaux de France (Foundation of the French and Paris Hospital Boards) joined the children on board the bateau-mouche, where a grand afternoon tea took place to celebrate the end of the Pièces Jaunes 2014 operation. The singer Yves Duteil, who is very committed to the association, also performed some songs.

Representatives from RELAY France were present and gave a cheque to the association, raised from the collection organised beforehand.

The Louis Carlesimo association

The Louis Carlesimo association is made up of over 60 volunteers wanting to provide psychological and material aid to seriously ill children. Since 1982, nearly 20,000 children have benefited from the association’s help and over 400 initiatives (trips, outings, shows, etc.), led by volunteers, have been organised. Their goal is to respond to the distress calls and take children out of hospital to help them forget their suffering and give them a chance to escape and dream.
