Jean-Pierre Cottet appointed Business Development and Innovation Director of Lagardère SCA

Arnaud Molinié, Strategy and Development Director of Lagardère SCA, in agreement with Arnaud Lagardère, Managing Partner of Lagardère SCA, has appointed Jean-Pierre Cottet as Business Development and Innovation Director for the Lagardère Group. His chief responsibility will be to identify opportunities for growth required to advance the various activities within the Group.

Jean-Pierre Cottet was previously Business Development Director of Lagardère Active after joining the Lagardère Group in 2004 as Audiovisual Director and Managing Director of Lagardère Active.

After graduating with a degree in sociology and studying at the CFPJ (Paris Journalist Training Centre), Jean-Pierre Cottet started out his professional career as a journalist in the written press and radio between 1974 and 1984. He then went on to work as a TV producer from 1984 to 1993.

He joined the public television channel France 3 in 1993 as Channel and Programming Director and was appointed to the post of Managing Director at France 2 in 1996 to head up the channel. In 2000, he joined La Cinquième as Managing Director, transforming the channel into France 5.

Between 1998 and 2000, Jean-Pierre Cottet was commissioned by the French government to produce a report on the “place of culture in the world of television” and a second one concerning “digital terrestrial television in France”.

Jean-Pierre Cottet is currently President of Cap Digital, an economic initiative promoting competitiveness within the digital content sector of Greater Paris.
