Aelia and Lagardère Services Asia Pacific (LS ASPAC) win a significant fashion contract at Singapore Changi Airport, reinforcing the presence of the Lagardère Services group at one of Asia-Pacific’s prime gateways and extending its specialist fashion presence in Asia-Pacific.

An exciting new approach is set to give fresh impetus to the luxury fashion on offer at Singapore’s Changi Airport. Duty Free and luxury goods specialist Aelia and its sister company, Lagardère Services Asia Pacific (LS ASPAC), have been awarded a contract to operate one of the region’s largest multi-brand airport fashion outlets in Changi Airport from October 2010.

The high-end store (764 sq m), located in the Departure/Transit Lounge North, Terminal 2, will carry a unique portfolio of leading labels selected to appeal to the passenger profile at the terminal, which welcomed nearly 12 million travellers in total last year. The contract follows the recent success of Aelia and LS ASPAC in developing an exceptional new shop-in-shop fashion concept at Sydney Airport, including collections from Hugo Boss, Ermenegildo Zegna, Salvatore Ferragamo, Etro, Tumi and Porsche Design. Aelia’s fashion portfolio includes over 20 dedicated mono-, duo- and multi-brand stores in France, offering brands such as Hermès, Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss, Yves Saint Laurent, Longchamp, Salvatore Ferragamo, Céline, Montblanc, Furla, Burberry and many more.

Aelia’s Chairman and CEO, Jean-Baptiste Morin, comments: “We’re determined to create a fashion experience that not only builds on Changi’s formidable reputation for retail but also serves as a regional flagship for our group. We will achieve this by providing Changi Airport with the unique blend of Aelia’s expertise as a luxury goods retailer and the regional specialist insight provided by our sister company, Lagardère Services Asia Pacific. We are delighted at the opportunity to strengthen our relationship with Changi.””Aelia and LS ASPAC share Changi Airport Group’s (CAG) focus on enhancing the shopper experience and, backed by close relationships with our luxury brand partners, we will seize this opportunity to demonstrate our adaptability in creating an innovative and exciting fashion offer. The project is part of our drive to create retail concepts that are specifically tailored to each location. Our latest contract with CAG is a positive sign that landlords recognise the unique strengths that sister companies within the Lagardère
Services group can harness in our shared approach.

Scott Raisin, CEO of Lagardère Services Asia Pacific, says: “This is an exciting expansion of our specialist retail expertise in the region and, working closely with our colleagues at Aelia, we are confident that our blend of global and local expertise will deliver an extraordinary luxury brands experience for the Changi shopper. With 17 existing outlets in Singapore, LS ASPAC has developed a successful, long-standing relationship with CAG and our specialist experience at over 150 outlets across Asia-Pacific enables us to leverage our exceptional understanding of the region’s travellers.

Changi Airport Group Executive Vice President (Commercial), Lim Peck Hoon, says: “Fashion is a vibrant element of the Changi shopping experience and we have confidence in Aelia and Lagardère Services Asia Pacific’s ability to understand, engage and satisfy our discerning customers while fully driving the revenue opportunity. This is an exciting development for Terminal 2, particularly with the airport’s passenger traffic growing strongly over the past few months. We look forward to the flair and insight that Aelia and LS ASPAC will bring to fashion at Changi.”

Further details, including the store’s portfolio of fashion brands, will be announced in the next few months.
