Lagardère Unlimited, the branch of the Lagardère group that deals with sport and entertainment, has today announced the signing of an exclusive marketing representation contract with the well-known rugby player Sébastien Chabal.
Over the next few weeks, during the 2011 Six Nations Championship, Sébastien and the rest of the French team will endeavour to defend their title as 2010 Six Nations Grand Slam champions while keeping the big prize in their sights: the forthcoming Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, home of the All Blacks.
Born on 8th December 1977 in Valence, Sébastien started his rugby career in Beauvallon then moved to Valence, Bourgoin-Jallieu and Sale (England) before joining Racing Métro 92 in June 2009. Donning the blue jersey for the first time aged 22, in a match against Scotland in 2000, he has now amassed 59 caps with the French XV. Two-time winner of the Six Nations Championship (2007, 2010), English Premiership champion (2006) and winner of the European Shield (2005), Sébastien has also taken part in two World Cups (2003, 2007).
One of the most popular French sports personalities, the international rugby star shot to fame during the French XV’s tour of New Zealand in 2007. Feared on the pitch thanks to his devastating charges and tackles, Sébastien is idolised by many for the strong and positive values that he represents.
