Category

Corporate & other activities

Paris, October 3, 2007

Following the market reaction provoked by revelations by the French newspaper Le Figaro concerning the AMF’s current investigation of possible insider trading by some members of EADS managerial staff, the AMF specifies that:

  • It did in fact transmit, as required by law, a progress report to the Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office at the start of September
  • It obviously will not comment on Le Figaro‘s revelations
  • It insists, however, on the fact that its investigations are not complete, and will not be completed before the beginning of 2008. Consequently, the AMF college, which alone is competent to initiate proceedings by the regulator against those who may have violated its general regulations, has not expressed an opinion concerning the facts evoked in the article and has limited itself, at this stage, to deciding to inform the legal authorities thereof.
  • At the current stage of the procedure, which remains that of a simple investigation, the persons concerned have been unable to exercise the rights of the Defence.
