Lagardère Active announces a plan to revive the Journal du Dimanche

Lagardère Active announces a plan to revive the Journal du Dimanche; the plan concerns the newspaper’s editorial approach as well as the marketing conditions required to make the new approach a success.

The plan specifically includes:

– The launch of a new combined offer with the magazine Sport, starting 25 May 2008
– A strategy aimed at increasing distribution via additional points of sale
– A new editorial approach featuring richer content and an updated layout

This revival plan is intended to restore the JDD’s position as France’s standard Sunday newspaper.

The plan will be implemented by Christian de Villeneuve who, along with Olivier Royant, contributed to the revival of Paris Match. He will become Managing Editor starting 13 May 2008, and will appoint a deputy managing editor in the coming weeks.

He will continue to serve in his capacity as Managing Director of the editorial staffs of Magazines France.
