HDS Retail staff proud carriers of the Olympic torch!

Two employees of HDS Retail North America had the privilege to participate in the 2010 Olympic Torch Relay. Greg Christian, (Manager, Technical Services in the Toronto Office) and Kelly Lanthier (Assistant General Manager, Niagara Falls, Ontario) ran with the Olympic torch in two different locations in Ontario during the month of December. HDS Retail was thrilled to have Greg and Kelly represent the whole company at such a historic event.

The Olympic Torch Relay began in Canada on October 30, 2009 and will conclude at the Opening Ceremony signaling the start of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games on February 12, 2010. By that time, over 12,000 Canadians will have run with the Olympic Torch, each for a 300-metre stretch of the journey.

In parallel to this participation in the Olympic Torch Relay, the management and staff at the six HDS Retail locations at Vancouver International Airport (including RELAY – the world’s largest news and gift brand) are getting the company’s local operations fully ready for the opening of the Games. Management and sales associates alike renewed their commitment to provide a warm welcome to the millions of visitors to Vancouver and beautiful British Columbia.
