The French publishing company Hachette Livre has signed a memorandum of understanding with Russian publishing group Atticus Publishing which is 82% owned by A&NN Group controlled by Alexander Mamut, with a view to acquiring a blocking minority interest (25% + one share) in Atticus.

Atticus is a trade publishing group based in Moscow. Its backlist of approximately 1,700 titles is heavily weighted towards Russian and foreign fiction, and children’s books.
Atticus had sales of $ 43 Million in 2010, which makes it Russia’s #4 publishing house in terms of size. It is not publicly traded.

The memorandum of understanding calls for the transaction to be completed within three months.
