Mama Editions is a leading publisher in the French esoteric book market, based in Paris and founded in 2000 by Tigrane Hadengue and Michka Seeliger-Châtelain. The publishing house is known for its high editorial standards and its expertise in shamanism, birth, and health.

Mama Editions’ releases include Lucile Gomez’s bestselling La naissance en BD comics, a three-volume educational series on natural birth.

Through the acquisition, Hachette Livre is gaining an imprint with broad recognition in the esotericism and spiritual development segments, which will cement the Group’s position in those buoyant markets.

The founders, Tigrane Hadengue and Michka Seeliger-Châtelain, will use their expertise to further develop Mama Editions by focusing on the editorial side of the business.

At Hachette Livre, Mama Editions will join Le Lotus et l’Eléphant, a spiritual development publisher with a catalog specialized in divination, tarot & oracles, well-being, and personal development.

Hachette Livre entered the esotericism market in 2019 and, over the past four years, has grown to become the second-leading publisher in the space. The acquisition of Mama Editions will enable the Group to strengthen its position in France’s fast-growing esotericism and spiritual development market.

Currently marketed and distributed by Dilisco, Mama Editions will join Hachette Livre’s distribution service and continue to be marketed by Dilisco.

“In joining the Hachette Livre group, we’re delighted to be able to turn our full focus to our core competency, with many exciting projects ahead.” Michka Seeliger-Châtelain and Tigrane Hadengue
