Juniors champion Gael Monfils, 20, currently ranked 38th worldwide, winner of the Australian Open, Roland Garros and Wimbledon Juniors titles, has once again joined TeamLagardère.
Gael Monfils will now have access to the full skills and expertise of TeamLagardère. Gael will receive personalized follow-up centred on training under the leadership of Thierry Champion. He will undergo sophisticated testing, regular assessment of his physical and technical capabilities in close collaboration with the TeamLagardère research team, biological monitoring as well as assistance in planning his fitness training regimen. As is the case for all TeamLagardère athletes, Gael will be required to comply with a rigorous and strict code of ethics.
At TeamLagardère, Gael Monfils will join back up with the training team he had worked with during the 2005 and 2006 seasons.
It was thanks to TeamLagardère that Monfils swiftly reached the world’s 23rd ranking in June 2006. “I am very happy to be back with TeamLagardère, men and women in whom I have great trust. After three years on the circuit, my goals are ambitious: reach the top world rankings, rise to the highest level at the Grand Slam tournaments, and, hopefully, join France’s Davis Cup team. Currently, the conditions for that are ripe and the situation optimal.” Gael Monfils
“I am delighted that Gael has joined our team. He has all of the skills needed to become one of the world’s leading players. Within our Foundation, he will once again benefit from a diverse palette of experience and skill. We are honoured and very proud to have him.” Arnaud Lagardère
