Editions Harlequin draws on Numilog’s expertise for design of digital bookstore
Paris, July 7, 2010
The Harlequin publishing house is offering its readers a direct-purchase option based on Numilog’s eBook store concept.
To meet the varied demand of its diverse customer base, Harlequin offers a wide range of literary genres, including romance, thrillers, suspense, adventure, psychological drama, history and fantasy, along with the inclusion of books for young readers as of June 2010.
In addition to being sold by bookshops and mass-market retailers, the publisher’s books are also available by subscription and via the Harlequin.fr website.
Out of a desire to make their collections even more accessible, Harlequin has been selling certain book categories in digital versions for e-readers through various online bookstores for several years now. More recently, certain works have also been made available for iPhone and iPad. It was therefore a natural development for the publisher to make these digital books available to its loyal website customers directly.
Numilog, which specializes in the design of eBook stores, has created an e-commerce site for Harlequin that is easy to use and a seamless fit with the graphic environment of the Harlequin.fr website. Among other features, the site’s customers will be able to leaf through all of the publisher’s books before purchasing them, and will also be able to recommend favourite titles to their friends via the social network of their choice. New releases will be available monthly, released simultaneously with the hard-copy editions.
