 Depeche Mode

Bordeaux’s major entertainment venue, the Bordeaux Metropole Arena, will host Depeche Mode on Wednesday 24 January for the group’s only appearance in France in 2018, as part of its Global Spirit Tour.

After pre-sales opened on Wednesday 5 July via BordeauxMetropoleArena.com and the ticket services on Friday 7 July, the concert sold out in minutes! Over 11,000 people will attend on 24 January 2018 to celebrate the inauguration of Bordeaux’s new arena.

According to Jérôme Langlet, CEO of Lagardère Live Entertainment and director of the Bordeaux Metropole Arena: “It is with immense pride that we will welcome Depeche Mode next January. In the past, the legendary rock group has appeared at the Stade de France, but has now chosen Bordeaux for its one and only appearance in France in 2018. What a way to inaugurate our new arena! Other exceptional events will be announced shortly, including a concert showcasing local talent. The Bordeaux Metropole Arena team is keen to see the audience thronging the arena floor, making the most of all this magnificent venue has to offer.”

And the Bordeaux Metropole Arena’s team adds: “We would like to thank Depeche Mode most warmly for doing us the honour of coming to Bordeaux for the much-anticipated launch of the Arena. And a huge thank you goes to Live Nation, the concert and tour producer, for placing its trust in us and making this event possible. And above all, we want to send a special message to the residents of the Bordeaux metropolitan area: thank you for being so involved, for sticking with us and trusting us. We will do all we can to give you exceptional experiences, and we look forward to welcoming you.”

Depeche Mode – Global Spirit Tour
Global Spirit, the group’s 18th tour, marks their first live performances in nearly three years. The group’s last outing, the Delta Machine Tour, brought out nearly 2.5 million fans at sold-out shows throughout Europe and North America, and was one of 2013’s most spectacular, successful tours.
Having sold more than 100 million discs and played live in front of over 30 million fans around the world, the band refuses to rest on its laurels, despite countless artists citing them as inspiration and critics hailing them as having opened new avenues; they are becoming more, not less, important as time goes by. The album Spirit (the group’s 14th studio album), released in March 2017, and the Global Spirit Tour look set to continue the British group’s story of musical innovation, critical acclaim and commercial success.
