Didier Quillot, CEO of Lagardère Active

today announced the appointment of Alain Lemarchand, who to date has been Chief Executive Officer of Hachette Filipacchi Media US (HFM US), to the newly created position of President and CEO of the Asia-Pacific Area for Lagardère Active.

As part of his new duties, Alain Lemarchand will be in charge of boosting regional synergies and improving the effectiveness of these organizations in order to capture growth opportunities, which is critical for Lagardère Active in this part of the world, as he has successfully done in the USA by :
– focusing the organization around its core brands,
– disseminating a digital and innovation-driven culture throughout the company,
– entering into new partnerships.

To successfully pursue his mission, he will be able to capitalize on the track record and already conclusive results delivered for 20 years by Lagardère Active through its International Division in this part of the world.

Didier Quillot said: « Asia Pacific constitutes a major growth area for Lagardère Active. In the US, Alain successfully reorganized the company and refocused it on expansion. He will likewise be able to face the challenges of innovation posed by the Asia-Pacific zone with the same talent, building up on the drive and dynamism of the teams in those countries. »

Born in 1954, Alain Lemarchand has spent most of his career with the Lagardère Group, first as CFO of the various subsidiaries of the Matra corporation in France and the USA, then as chief of Financial Communication and Investor relations of Lagardère SCA in 1999.
