Lagardère AWPL selected to deliver new retail and dining experience at Sunshine Coast Airport

Sunshine Coast Airport has selected Lagardère AWPL as its retail and food & beverage to support the transformation of the terminal, marking the launch of a new partnership and the largest commercial investment in the airport’s history.

The project will introduce a renewed retail and dining environment aligned with the airport’s ambition to enhance the passenger experience while showcasing the identity and produce of the Sunshine Coast region.

Sunshine Coast Airport CEO Chris Mills said: “Partnering with a world-class international operator allows us to reimagine what our terminal can offer to deliver more choice for travellers. Their reputation across the world and commitment to quality align strongly with our vision to improve the passenger experience and showcase the best of our region.

From mid-2026 through to late-2027, Lagardère AWPL will progressively open seven outlets totalling approximately 1000m², including travel essentials with the leading brand RELAY and the flagship specialty retail concept Discover Sunshine Coast. The development will also introduce an expanded food & beverage offer featuring a new burger brand, all-day dining kitchen & bar, expanded Asian, fresh food and dedicated departure and arrival cafés.

Already present in 13 airports across the region, and following recent openings in Adelaide, Hobart and Sydney, RELAY continues to strengthen its position as the leading Travel Essentials brand in the region, combining strong passenger recognition with the flexibility to adapt its offer to local markets and airport environments. Alongside it, Discover Sunshine Coast will serve as a dedicated showcase for local producers, products and regional stories, creating a strong sense of place throughout the terminal. The expanded dining offer will introduce a broader range of formats across the day, placing local ingredients and accessible, high-quality options at the heart of the passenger experience.
