Sportfive recruits two experts in digital and experiential marketing to beef up its marketing department

Florent Marty and Guillaume Cossou have been appointed client strategy directors, reporting to Cédric Girard, director of marketing & strategic planning.


Sportfive, a subsidiary of Lagardère Unlimited and a leading player in the management of sports marketing and broadcasting rights in Europe and Africa, is strengthening its marketing department by adding two sports marketing experts, Guillaume Cossou and Florent Marty, as client strategy directors. Since 2012, the Sportfive France marketing department, with Cédric Girard at the helm, has been boosting Sportfive’s marketing and strategic value-added among rights holders and sponsors.

Florent Marty, 40, brings 15 years of experience in the sports marketing sector, particularly with the NBA (National Basketball Association), where he successively held the positions of coordinator, manager, and marketing partnerships and events director, first in France and then Europe-wide. Marty was responsible for developing and implementing all NBA sponsorship programmes with his London-based team.

 Guillaume Cossou, Directeurs Stratégie Clients de Sportfive Guillaume Cossou, 33, graduated from the ESSEC International Sports Marketing Chair’s MBA programme and holds an MBA in sports marketing from the ESSEC business school. After winning the karate world championship in 2004, he founded Répons’sports, a sports event-planning firm. Cossou continued his career with DDB Entertainment, where he served as account manager from 2007 to 2009, followed by a stint as partnership and digital studio manager at the company’s Paris and Los Angeles offices.
 Cédric Girard, Directeur Marketing & Planning stratégique de Sportfive. Since 2012, Cédric Girard, 39, has been working as Sportfive’s marketing & strategic planning manager. He began his career at Unilever in 1996, where he held various marketing and sales positions. In 2003, he worked in the sports industry as marketing and communications director for water sports at Decathlon, and then as brand leader – sports performance at Nike France. From 2008 to 2012, he oversaw partnership marketing strategies for Coca-Cola in France and abroad.
