Lagardère Travel Retail today announces it has entered into an agreement to acquire Marché, the multi-brand international catering company. With this transaction, Lagardère Travel Retail considerably strengthens its network of Foodservice operations and confirms its long-standing strategic ambition to grow across all segments of activities in Travel Retail and Dining to holistically cover landlord and traveler needs. It also reinforces its portfolio of internal brands, Marché being a long-standing and highly recognized brand globally.
Lagardère Travel Retail and Marché today have signed an agreement whereby Lagardère Travel Retail will acquire 100% of the shares in Marché International AG, the holding company of the Marché group, headquartered in Switzerland. As a result of the transaction, which is expected to complete by Q1 2023, Lagardère Travel Retail will take over the restaurant network of Marché in six countries: Germany, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Singapore.
Marché is a well-established international food services provider which operates in travel and leisure locations including airports, railway and motorway stations, zoos and downtown malls. The company’s diverse portfolio of brands and concepts most notably includes the much-appreciated “Marché” brand, Palavrion, Cindy’s diner and the White Monkey, and covers the full range of customer needs and budgets.
Characterized by the radical freshness and quality of its food offering, Marché’s operations are a strong addition to Lagardère Travel Retail’s portfolio of foodservice operations globally. It represents an opportunity to considerably strengthen Lagardère Travel Retail Foodservice European network, in Germany in particular. It will also enable Lagardère Travel Retail to diversify its operations in Singapore by adding Foodservice to existing Travel Essentials and Duty Free & Fashion stores. With this transaction, Lagardère Travel Retail expands its geographical footprint to Slovenia.

In the first half of 2022, Group revenue totalled €3,027 million, up 38.6% on a like-for-like basis.

Groupe ADP has launched a public consultation on its Duty Free & Retail activities for Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports. Lagardère Travel Retail has been chosen to become the Groupe ADP’s co-partner in Extime Duty Free Paris, as part of the roll-out of the Extime hospitality and retail brand.
Extime Duty Free Paris will operate around 140 beauty, gourmet, technical and fashion outlets. It will be 51% owned by the ADP Group and 49% by Lagardère Travel Retail, subject to the approval of the relevant competition authorities.

On 10 March 2023, the Board of Directors of Lagardère SA unanimously confirmed the advisability of implementing the plan to make the Group’s radio division (Europe 1, Europe 2 and RFM) autonomous, through a reorganization of its ownership and governance.
As previously announced, the radio division would be consolidated under a holding company that would adopt the form of a limited partnership with shares, whose limited partners would be Lagardère group companies, and of which Mr. Arnaud Lagardère would be indirectly the General Partner and personally the Managing Partner. In this dual capacity, Mr. Arnaud Lagardère would be solely responsible for supervising the managers and teams of the radio division and would be the ultimate decision-maker on editorial policy. Ms. Constance Benqué would be appointed Chief Executive Officer of the limited partnership and would report to Mr. Arnaud Lagardère in her functions.
