Boulogne-Billancourt, 12 February, 2013
SPORTFIVE, the international sports marketing leader and a subsidiary of Lagardère Unlimited, and the Ligue Nationale de Handball have announced the conclusion of a partnership agreement concerning in particular marketing rights of competitions organised by the Ligue Nationale de Handball.
Philippe Bernat-Salles, President of the Ligue Nationale de Handball said: “Reaching such an agreement with SPORTFIVE is perfectly in line with our goal of assisting and ensuring the attractiveness of handball. This partnership will allow us to take advantage of SPORTFIVE’S expertise to market our premium rights as well as participating in on-going discussions on the development of our events”.
Vincent Tong Cuong, Managing Director of SPORTFIVE France, said: “SPORTFIVE is proud to become a trusted partner of the LNH to be able to contribute to the expansion of a major discipline in the French sporting environment. Our respective teams are already hard at work on subjects that will enhance the attractiveness of this sport and of the LNH.”
The latest member of collective sport professional leagues, the Ligue Nationale de Handball includes the 14 first-division men's Handball clubs. In charge of managing, promoting and marketing the competitions it organises, LNH has been supporting the development of this discipline since 2004. The increase in club budgets, audiences, in the renown of the championship, the signature of a TV contract with the Canal+ group and the return of many French Olympic champions and foreign stars to French competitions allow us to consider the French D1 as the world handball benchmark next to the Bundesliga.
