France’s leading organizer of trade fairs for the general public and the world’s leading magazine publisher have decided simultaneously to acquire stakes in Compagnie Scheffer, a specialist in trade-fair organization.
Comexpo Paris and Hachette Filipacchi Médias respectively now hold 26% and 24% of this company.

This unusual association between two trade-fair organizers and a major publisher will create excellent synergies for developing new fairs:

Comexpo Paris is one of the leading organizers of Trade Fairs and Salons in France with a total of 60 events and average turnover of FF 700 million a year. Its unique experience in this sector enables it to master every aspect of organizing major events for the general public: logistics and technical services, marketing booth space and derivative products, advertising and coordination, etc.
A range of skills that Comexpo Paris wishes to make available to the events organized by Aude Zieseniss de Thuin.

Hachette Filipacchi Médias, the world’s leading magazine publisher, sees this alliance as a means of achieving closer ties between its Life-Style magazines and Compagnie Scheffer‘s salons, which are very popular with its readers. The press continues to be the main media for advertising these events and journalists gather a lot of information at such events.
This natural partnership will thus be accentuated, making each fair a major event.

Compagnie Scheffer, was formed eight years ago and is headed by Aude Zieseniss de Thuin. It currently organizes two general public trade fairs:

  • L’Art du Jardin, France’s leading gardening fair which attracts more than 100,000 visitors each year.
  • Créations & Savoir-faire, a fair that launched the concept of creative leisure and which is attracting a growing number of visitors (150,000 a year).
