Following the signing of the formal contract resulting from the memorandum of understanding dated march 21, Hachette Livre now owns a 25% interest (plus one share) of Azbooka-Atticus.

Azbooka-Atticus based in Moscow, is a trade publishing group owned 94,6% by A&NN Group which is controlled by Alexander Mamut.

Azbooka-Atticus, which is the result of the acquisitions of such companies as Machaon in 2004, Inostranka and Colibri in 2006, and Azbooka in 2008, is now a diversified publishing group that releases 1500 titles a year. Its backlist of approximately 3500 titles is heavily weighted towards Russian and foreign fiction (including such authors as Patrick Süskind, Wladimir Nabokov, Truman Capote and Mario Vargas Llosa), and children’s books. It also publishes illustrated books.

Azbooka-Atticus, the publisher of Russian bestselling author Maria Semenova, ranks third in the fiction and non-fiction segment. In the children’s books segment it ranks third as well.

It is Russia’s #4 publishing house in terms of new title releases per year.
Atticus had sales of $ 43 million in 2010. It is not publicly traded.
