Hachette Livre owns 49% of Azbooka-Atticus.

Hachette Livre, the world’s third largest trade publishing company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lagardère SCA, is proud to announce it has increased its stake in the capital of the Russian publisher Azbooka-Atticus from 25% to 49%.

The move reflects the successful cooperation between the two companies since Hachette Livre became a shareholder in March 2011, the vibrancy of the Russian book market, and the fine performance of Azbooka-Atticus under its new management.

Azbooka-Atticus is the third largest publishing house in Russia with sales in excess of 50 million dollars. It publishes 2,000 titles a year across several segments: Books for young readers, classic and contemporary fiction, non-fiction, business and cooking. Its list of authors include JK Rowling, Robert Galbraith, Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, Amélie Nothomb, Marc Lévy, Alice Munro, Patrick Modiano, Vladimir Nabokov, Patrick Süskind, Truman Capote, Mario Vargas Llosa, Malala Yousafzai, Peter Ackroyd, Anthony Beevor, Sergey Dovlatov, Victoria Tokareva, Marya Semenova, René Goscinny, Astrid Lindgren…
