Highlights of the 2012 autumn programming from Canal J and TiJi

Canal J: try having an awesome time, several times a day

Lagardère Active's Children and Family offering, comprising Gulli, Canal J, TiJi and La Chaîne du Père Noël, is the leading source of children's programming in France.

Now in its 27th year, Canal J, the channel aimed at 6- to 12-year-olds, again confirms the richness and diversity of its programming with animated series, dramas and original shows based on the channel's two main pillars: adventure and humour.

Canal J keeps a close eye on what's happening in the playground, continues to reflect the key aspects of children's lives and knows how to make a splash.

Pop's cool - CANAL J

A new example is its ambitious launch of the group Pop's Cool: seven talented teenagers, a renowned, focused artistic team to support them, 12 shows, an album, a concert and more.

On the adventurous side, all the big heroes for boys will be on Canal J with new series being shown in France for the first time: Beywheelz, a spinoff of Beyblade, and Yu-Gi-Oh!Zexal, the all-new series of Yu-Gi-Oh! - not to mention new series of Redakai, Transformers Prime and more: in short, all the essentials for the 6-12 set!

On the humorous side, viewers will enjoy Nini Patalo, with season 2 of the crazy adventures of his peculiar blended family from Lisa Mandel and studio Je Suis Bien Content, and Zig et Sharko, the two best enemies in the hilarious new cartoon from studio Xilam (Les Zinzins de l'espace, Oggy et les cafards etc.). These two series, co-produced by the channel, are setting the bar very high. They join Titeuf, Tony & Alberto, Samson et Néon and many more.

Canal J is also expanding its drama output by creating its own "tailor-made" series and zeroing in on the best pre-teen fantasy series. New this autumn:

  • Switch, an exclusive series commissioned from the producer of Génial Génie (Moi J'aime la télévision), a Canal J success story broadcast in over 110 countries around the world and featuring magic, humour and music, all served up by multi-talented young actors.
  • Haunting Hour (original title), the new horror and fantasy series from Canal J being shown for the first time in France, adapted from the books by RL Stine, author of the Goosebumps series.
  • The channel will also be showing Trop potes (season 3), the daily series from Canal J co-produced with Carson Prod.

Also worth mentioning are some exclusive shows this year, including season 3 of Big Jump (La Grosse Equipe) and Wazup (2P2L)!

Something to keep a smile on your face all year round!

TiJi, for little children who are growing up

Lagardère Active's Children and Family offering, comprising Gulli, Canal J, TiJi and La Chaîne du Père Noël, is the leading source of children's programming in France.

Launched over a decade ago, TiJi, the European pioneer in channels for younger children, is aimed at both children aged 3-7 and their parents. The channel offers young children programmes that encourage early awareness and learning, while adults have access to expert advice and shows to share with their children.

Poetry, creativity, gentleness and a light touch are the channel's hallmarks. TiJi has had a makeover, launching a new look and feel in February to support children from nursery school through to the start of primary school. The channel cradles children in a 3D world that projects a "handmade" feel and offers them a true sensory experience. TiJi playfully assembles, glues together and transforms objects into funny animals, and changes its sets to reflect the seasons. The new autumn season launches on 21 September.

TiJi's 2012 autumn programming is organized into three main areas:

  • Tree Fu Tom - TiJi

Entertainment, with today's top heroes: My Little Pony season 2, Franklin and His Friends (the great preschool classic, now in 3D), Peppa Pig season 5, Le marsupilami, The Smurfs and more. The channel will also be broadcasting original shows, some co-produced by TiJi, including Percy et ses amis, one of the end-of-year treats the channel will offer its viewers.
  • Participation, by inviting children to engage actively with its programmes, such as Tree Fu Tom, an animated series never previously shown in France - a fresh discovery for September.
  • Educational fun, with ever-more-innovative programmes based on TiJi's favourite themes, including well-being and development with Mini disco, independence with Météo de TiJi, reading with Super Tom et les Motamots, arithmetic with Curious George and lots more.

Also worth mentioning is the increasing use of sign language to enable deaf and hearing-impaired children to take full advantage of the channel. Following on from Devine Quoi?, TiJi has now had the famous SamSam translated into French sign language.

Today more than ever, TiJi sees itself as a parenting tool and now identifies its daily educational/fun content with a special logo.

TiJi is the channel that helps children to use their curiosity, learn and open their minds to the world, alongside their parents.
