Emmanuel Génin appointed sales director for Lagardère Active’s Television Operations – France and Worldwide
Emmanuelle Guilbart, director of Lagardère Active’s Television Operations – France and Worldwide, has appointed Emmanuel Génin as sales director for Lagardère Active’s Television Operations – France and Worldwide. Reporting to Ms Guilbart, Mr Génin will be responsible for the distribution and development of Lagardère Active’s special-interest channels in France and worldwide. His tasks will include the development of linear and non-linear services, the launch of new services (like high definition, local versions and VOD) and business development based on these brands.Emmanuel Génin, 39, holds a DEA post-graduate diploma in political science from the Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and a master’s degree in media from ESCP business school. He began his career in 1995 as a research officer for the Marketing department and in programme planning at TF1. In 1996, he joined Vidéopole, EdF’s cable subsidiary, as programme manager. In 1999, he took part in the launch of a special-interest channel package in Switzerland for the AB Group. The following year, he moved to Eurosport to develop that channel’s interactive television and teletext services worldwide. Following TF1’s takeover of Eurosport France, he was made responsible for the distribution of Eurosport channels in French-speaking countries and later German-speaking and African countries. He is also responsible for teleshopping programmes broadcast at night in France and worldwide.
