Le Journal du Dimanche "Early Edition" at newsstands on Saturday

2009 is the year of the JDD. On the heels of a makeover in 2008 (including an updated layout, a new emphasis on scoops, new features and new columns), the JDD continues to innovate, introducing changes that reflect how people live--now published in two editions, at midday Saturday and on Sunday morning.

Beginning Saturday 7 March at noon, an early edition of the JDD will be available in Greater Paris and other major French cities (Marseille, Lyon, Lille, etc.).
"Le Journal du Dimanche Première Edition" will capture new readers who can find it earlier at their newsstands.

And the JDD will continue to appear on Sundays, as it has for 60 years, with breaking news from Saturday afternoon and evening.

By creating two editions, the JDDnow offers its readers greater freedom to decide when to peruse their copy "à tête reposée"--with their full, relaxed attention. As a result, they'll gain a wealth of insight into the previous week to help them better prepare for the week to come.

Says JDD Editorial Director Christian de Villeneuve, "This innovation will give a wider readership the opportunity to find the newspaper closer to home and give it a leisurely, in-depth reading--so they can enjoy it even more".

Now more than ever, the JDD is the major newspaper for the weekend.

The launch of the new edition is being backed by a substantial promotional campaign, including radio, TV, print media, display advertising and the Internet, developed by the Blue agency.
