Lagardère Publishing’s general fiction publishers at the heart of the latest literary news

Every autumn, the French literary season offers an unmissable end-of-year event, marked by awards for authors, a challenge for publishers, and feverish expectation among readers. That’s why the publishers of the Hachette Livres group are proud to present their novels and essays for August and September 2007. All the ingredients are there for a terrific season!

Offering a fine blend of fresh talent (Carl Aderhold, Iris Wong) and experienced authors (Fréderic Beigbeder, Christophe Donner), the start of the 2007 literary season is a journey through time – from Louis XVII in Un Roi Sans Lendemain to Shell, Benoît Virol’s virtual character – and through space, with a number of discoveries from foreign literature, including Paranoïd Park by Blake Nelson and Mortals by Norman Rush. But it’s also, and above all, a highly contemporary journey to the heart of everyday reality – that, among others, of cherished youth in Un Jeune Homme Triste, of the depths of depression in La Donation or even the daily life of a homeless person in No Et Moi. There’s something here to satisfy everyone’s literary appetite…!
And to explore from 23 August… a mini-site devoted to the fall literary season, at www.hachette.com with videos of the authors accompanied by a full description of the works and first chapters to download.
