Charles Dantzig receives the December prize
The December prize was awarded to Charles Dantzig for his essay entitled Dictionnaire égoïste de la littérature française published by Grasset
The work was also short-listed for the Renaudot, Medicis and Femina prizes in the essay category. Ranging from "A" for "Activity" to "Z" for "Zoo", and from François Villon to Françoise Sagan - this dictionary "includes both famous and little-known authors, widely read works as well as those that could benefit from wider exposure, plus fictional characters and concepts. This is not just another dictionary."
Charles Dantzig, 43, is an editor at Grasset, poet, translator and author of over a dozen works, including the novel Nos Vies hâtives (Grasset), which won the Freustié and Nimier prizes in 2001.
