The 2005 Prix Goncourt has been awarded to François Weyergans for Trois Jours Chez Ma Mère (Grasset)

The 2005 Prix Renaudot goes to Nina Bouraoui for Mes Mauvaises Pensées (Stock)

François Weyergans is honoured for Trois Jours Chez Ma Mère (Grasset), the story of a writer unable to finish his book. François Weyergans has crafted a bitter, ironic, cruel yet funny novel that is ultimately a declaration of love for life.

The main protagonist closely resembles characters from Weyergans' other novels, including the hero of Franz et François, François Weyergraf.

Nina Bouraoui has been awarded the Prix Renaudot for Mes Mauvaises Pensées (Stock), the tale of a private confession on a psychoanalyst's couch wherein the narrator relates the tale of a childhood in Algeria and an eventful love life.

Born in Rennes in 1967, Nina Bouraoui has also written La Voyeuse Interdite, which received the Prix du Livre Inter in 1991, Le Jour du Séisme, Garçon Manqué and La Vie Heureuse, all published by Stock.
