In Singapore and Malaysia, we operate in total 30 duty free stores specializing in Luxury fashion, Pandora, Gifts & Souvenirs, Confectionery and F&B across all 4 terminals in the world's ranked No.1 Best Airport – Changi Airport and the Malaysia Kuala Lumpur International Airport employing close to 300 employees.

The Marketing Manager carries the responsibility for leading and driving the retail performance and maxihmising the return from each Business Lines within Lagardere Travel Retail in Singapore and Malaysia through innovative and effective Marketing & Promotions to strengthen the company’s presence.


This role requires someone who has proven capabilities in the area of Marketing and Promotions while also having a good grasp on brand management, to support the Organisation’s goal as a Leading Travel Retail Operator. He/She must be motivated, self driven with an entrepreneurial flair.


He/She is expected to be able to quickly gain an in-depth understanding of the business operations at a high level as well as the ability to work in a detailed analytical and hands-on manner. Reporting directly to the Operations and Commercial Executive Director – Singapore and Malaysia, the prime responsibility is the development and implementation of commercial and marketing strategies plans by analysing economic indicators, tracking changes in supply and demand, identifying customers current and future needs; monitoring competition along with the management of the category management and merchandising function.


  1. Operational Marketing and Promotions:

    1.  Develop and execute Marketing strategies for each of the Business  Lines, with the objective of BSC ie increasing footfall and B2B profile.
    2.  This requires close collaboration with other key stakeholders.
    3.  Leverage with respective landlords and other business partners to collaborate and support marketing and promotions.
    4.  Oversee the development of a Promotions Plans for each Business Lines, in collaboration with Operations with the objective of increasing conversion.
    5.  Drive and develop new marketing promotions program with external parties such as airlines, hotels, bank partners etc to create awareness, increased footfall and NRI.
    6.  Plan and production of marketing support material, such as point of sale and promotional GWPs bags directly with China factory
    7.  Regularly conduct and evaluate market/customer research, market conditions, competitors’ data.
    8.  Lead the PRC Tour Group initiatives, with the PRC Business Development reporting to this position.
    9.  Create, plan, implement and monitor marketing action plan through unique and successful activations across all business lines in Singapore and Malaysia by ensuring smooth communication between and work collaboratively with all parties (Buyers / Operations / Travel industry manager / VM  / 3rd party (CAG/Suppliers)
    10.Focus to develop store penetration and spend for our top 3 nationalities across all business lines: Chinese / Singaporean / Indonesian
    11. Support the redaction of any business tenders happening in Singapore and Malaysia in collaboration with BD team.
    12. Work collaboratively and consistently engage with all business lines on the marketing plan / implementation.



Profile & Competencies

  • Degree in Business or Markeiting or relevant discipline
  • Proficient in advance Excel skills to analyse sales and marketing data to propose sound mareketing proposal and recommendations
  • Proven track records in a FMCG or Travel Retail or similar background
  • At least 5 years experience in management Marketing and promotions for retail environment
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Energetic and motivated with a positive mindset

  • Achieve or better financial targets/results.
  • Report to senior management results versus monthly forecasts and actual to track sales, profit, spending per customer etc.
  • Track and analyse performance of various marketing and promotion initiatives through quantitative analysis; analyse results and revise program elements to improve results if needed.

  • Store Penetration/Conversion
  • SPP
  • Deliver NRI $ targets through various marketing/promotion activities
  • Deliver Gross Margin $ and % for the categories
