Adapting to local cultures, consumer diversity and the multiplicity of markets is a key issue for the development of all of the Group's activities. The Lagardère Group encourages diversity within its divisions; because of the variety found in its business lines and the skills displayed by their employees, their activities should directly reflect the society that surrounds them.
In this way, team diversity is not only an opportunity to attract new talents to the Lagardère Group, but also an axis of growth and an innovation lever.

To promote equal opportunity for all employees and ensure fair employment practices, the Group strives to develop inter-departmental initiatives by surfacing best practices launched within the various entities and then sharing them internally.

The Group opposes all forms of discrimination based on origin, morals, age, sex, political or religious opinions, trade union membership, disability or sexual orientation.

It also seeks to respect and promote the fundamental ILO conventions related to the elimination of discrimination in employment practices and in the workplace, as well as the elimination of forced or compulsory labour.

Recruitment

In 2016, 8,092 employees were hired by the Group worldwide.
Recruitment is decentralised and carried out by our subsidiaries' Human Resources departments. Recruitment volumes and selection processes are thus specific to each business line and adapted to their business needs.

Encouraging work placements and work study

The Group is committed to providing support and training to young people by promoting work placements and by putting a particular emphasis on work-study contracts. In 2016, 1,354 trainees were enrolled in Lagardère Group companies and 526 work-study contracts were signed.
Through these types of contracts, students can discover our business lines and get related training. This also presents the Group with the opportunity to identify our future talents.
The Group is committed to being present in school forums to help current students and recent graduates become more familiar with its businesses and operations through all its various brands.
Similarly, the Group has been involved from the start in what is now a must-attend event for students: the Grandes Écoles and Universities World Challenge. The one-day event brings together students and company employees for a sports competition, initiatives related to integrating workers with disabilities, and discussions about the business lines of the partner companies.

Diversity

Adapting to local cultures, consumer diversity and the multiplicity of markets is a key issue for the development of all of the Group's activities, which have a duty to reflect the society that surrounds them. Richer because of the variety in its business lines and the skills of its employees, the Lagardère Group encourages diversity within its divisions.
Its equal opportunities policy is based on three main axes:

  • The promotion of women's equality within the company,
  • The integration of workers with disabilities,
  • The fight against stereotypes, in particular about ethnic and social origins.

In this way, team diversity is not only an opportunity to attract new talents to the Lagardère Group, but also, in line with the promotion of cultural diversity and the diversity of the content of its various activities, an axis of growth and an innovation lever.
