Editions Stock
Founded in 1708, Stock is France's oldest publishing house and has been part of the Hachette Group since 1961.
Stock's catalogue lists no fewer than 1,300 French and foreign titles that trace the intellectual and aesthetic trends of the 19th and 20th centuries.
With the arrival of the Blue Collection, created by Jean-Marc Roberts in 1999, the prestigious French literature catalogue that already featured Rousseau, Cocteau and Apollinaire was extended to include work by such contemporary authors as Christine Angot, Vassilis Alexakis, Erik Orsenna, Philippe Claudel and Nina Bouraoui, and 2007 saw the publication of Simone Veil's memoirs. The Cosmopolitan Collection, which specializes in foreign literature, includes some 20 Nobel-prize winners and authors as celebrated as Tolstoy, Virginia Woolf, Stefan Zweig and Joyce Carol Oates.
