Editions Jean-Claude Lattès
Publishing house created in 1968, Editions JC Lattès now has a catalogue of over 1000 titles. A Bag of Marbles, Le Vent du Soir, Le Nabab, Leo the Africain, were among the house’s first great successes, followed by les Foulards rouges, la Chambre des officiers, and Geisha… Over the years, Lattès has confirmed its generalist vocation and maintained an excellent balance between French and foreign authors and fiction and non-fiction. In more recent years, the discovery of Dan Brown with Da Vinci Code has been of course one of Lattès’ biggest best-sellers. The house’s ambitious editorial policy has also promoted such authors as Scott Turow, Dean Koontz and James Patterson in the thriller category , Jean-François Parot and Jean d’Aillon for historical novels, and Ake Edwardson and Lars Saabye Christensen for Scandinavian literature. Lattès also prides itself on the publication of numerous documents on current affairs as well as biographies, particularly the autobiography of Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Peace Prize Winner in 2006, entitled Banker to the Poor. Lattès also distinguishes itself with the quality of its scientific publications. The collection Aventures de la connaissance has met with wonderful success in bookstores.
