In terms of employee relations, Lagardère strives to create a dynamic, attractive working environment where employee autonomy, self-motivation and creativity are rewarded. To achieve this, we have defined, in conjunction with divisional Human Resources directors, six essential goals:
- To maintain a balanced workforce, particularly in terms of size, geographic location, socio-professional categories, male-female ratios and age ranges, in an environment based on principles of fair play and equal treatment.
- To promote equal opportunity and diversity, and combat all forms of discrimination.
In terms of diversity, the company’s particular focus is on three groups:
- Persons with disabilities.
- Young people from disadvantaged urban areas.
- Women, and their role within the company.
- To offer attractive, fair, equitable pay that recognizes merit and performance.
- To foster growth and development in employee skills and motivation.
The development of employees’ professional skills and individual responsibilities has a direct bearing on our company’s success, and thus constitutes a major Human Resources policy factor in terms of both training and internal career development.
- To promote employer-labour dialogue.
Labour relations, the clear objective of which is to promote ongoing balance between economic and social issues, represents an essential component of company policy, given that more than three-quarters of Lagardère employees enjoy the benefit of personnel representatives.
- To protect health and safety at work.
In order to prevent health and safety hazards at work, the company seeks to maintain technical and organizational conditions that reduce such risks and actively supports employee training.
