Sporting events bring people together; no one knows this better than the Lagardère Group. Sports require practice and investment, and the great champions are heroes who inspire others and often serve as role models. Thus, the Group has lent its name to two major events to promote the unifying aspect of sports, and to instill in the youngest participants the desire to win.


French Athletics Federation
Through its commitment to the French Athletics Federation (FFA), the Lagardère group has shown its will to accompany the French athletics sector throughout its development, notably in major upcoming continental meetings and with the 2008 Beijing Olympics on the horizon. This agreement was signed between Arnaud Lagardère and Bernard Amsalem, chairman of the FFA, and focuses on two main areas:

• Athletes in the France team, as well as their coaching staff and their national trainers, benefit from advice and support provided by the TeamLagardère expert centre in the form of tests, applied research and training.
• In 2006, Lagardère became a partner of the France team. The French athletes wore the Lagardère colours on their kits during the Europe Cup and the Europe championships in Gothenburg. Lagardère also partnered the French Athletics Federation and the National circuit of meetings. Lagardère has become the founding partner of the Ligue nationale d’athlétisme for 2007 and 2008 and main partner of the Professional Circuit of meetings and continues its partnership with the France team.
  

French Table Tennis Federation
The purpose of the partnership agreement signed between TeamLagardère and the French Table Tenis Federation (FFTT) on March 15th 2006, for a two-and-a-half year period, is to increase France’s chances of winning medals during forthcoming continental and international events. The France Promotion group (consisting of 4 young and upcoming French players who are preparing for the 2008 Beijing Olympics) will be able to take advantage of TeamLagardère’s advice, support and scientific expertise. The collaboration focuses specifically on the assessment and analysis of physical and muscular capacities, assistance with training schedules and optimisation of performancelevels for the group’s athletes.


Tennis Academy
TeamLagardère has become a partner of the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy. This will notably give TeamLagardère sportsmen and women the possibility of participating in the American Academy programme, based in Bradenton (Florida). This agreement will also enable TeamLagardère technical executives to participate in training courses held at the Bradenton Academy.


Official partner of Roland-Garros
Arnaud Lagardère and Christian Bîmes, chairman of the French Tennis Federation, signed a five-year partnership agreement in April 2005, which will concern the 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 France Internationals.
The Lagardère group will be present throughout the full duration of the tournament, notably on the courts with Europe 1, whose broadcasting unit and teams will be on-the-ball right at the heart of the Roland-Garros stadium during the France Internationals fortnight.




Partner of the Paris Jean-Bouin
The Paris Jean-Bouin Multi-sports Club is spread over seven hectares of land to the West of Paris. The Lagardère group has been partnered with Paris Jean-Bouin since 2004 and is accompanying it throughout its modernisation and helping implement teaching teams to provide high-level training for young people. The TeamLagardère’s residence, since the end of 2005, on the Paris Jean-Bouin grounds is symbolic of the close relations fostered between the club and the Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation.
