Arlette Chabot appointed news chief editor of Europe 1

Denis Olivennes, chairman and CEO of Europe 1, has appointed Arlette Chabot as the station’s news chief editor: “Arlette Chabot’s experience, skill and independence fit naturally into the project to further increase Europe 1’s credibility. She will draw on her extensive editing experience, which has shown expertise and responsiveness.”

She will take up her new position on 4 March. Patrick Roger remains executive editor.

Arlette Chabot began her career with France Inter in 1974 in the Politics department, and from 1981 onwards she presented the morning news bulletin there. In 1984, she joined TF1’s Politics department, which she then headed. In 1990, she joined FR3’s national newsroom as editor-in-chief of the Politics and Economics department. In 1992, she began carrying out the same function at France 2, where she was assistant executive editor from 1994 till 1997. In 2004, she was named assistant general director of France 2 in charge of news. She also presented “Mots Croisés” until 2005, and later the programme “A vous de juger.”
